Accident Summary:

AIRCRAFT #141 WAS WORKING A LOG MISSION TO A SINGLE SHIP HOVER
DOWN LZ APPROXIMATELY 5 KILOMETERS SUUTHEAST OF FSB NEIL.
IT WAS THE THIRD TIME INTO THE LZ. THE AIRCRAFT PICKED UP A HIGH RATE
OF DESCENT AND WHEN THE PILOT PULLED IN POWER TO SLOW HIS DESCENT
WHEN HE RAN OUT OF LEFT PEDAL. THE TAIL ROTOR STRUCK A TREE CAUSING
THE 90 GEAR BOX TO TEAR OUT. THE AIRCRAFT THEN SPUN RAPIDLY ABOUT 270
AND THE NOSE DIPPED CAUSING A MAIN ROTOR STRIKE ON THE GROUND
WHICH IN TURN RIPPED THE TRANSMISSION STRAIGHT FORWARD.

THE AIRCRAFT THEN IMPACTED THE GROUND AND CAME TO REST
ON ITS LEFT SIDE. THE AIRCRAFT COMMANDER AND CREW CHIEF
RECIEVED BACK INJURIES. THE PILOT AND GUNNER WERE ONLY BRUISED
AND SHAKEN. THERE WAS NO FIRE.\\
